Asaf Erez
Vocals & Guitar
Asaf started his musical career at a very early age, playing various
instruments. At home, music was always an inseparable part of everyday life, where he was exposed to many
types of music from Mozart to Middle Eastern music.
Asaf initially formed the "Od Yishama Orchestra" in Los Angeles
in 1994, and in 1999 moved to Seattle and formed the current band.
He is the band leader, lead vocalist, and guitarist of the orchestra. |

Steve Rice
Keyboard & Accordion
Steve has been a pianist, keyboardist and an accordionist for the past 25 years.
There is virtually no type of music which he hasn’t played or playing on a regular
basis. From Jazz to Jewish music, he had traveled the world with the biggest
names in the music world. Steve plays as a pianist internationally with well
known orchestras such as the "Harry James Orchestra" and the "Jimmy Dorsey
Orchestra".
Steve was the first member to join the "Od Yishama Orchestra"
in early 1999. He has received national critical acclaim for his performance on several
recordings of traditional and original Jewish music. When it comes to the Jewish music
world, Steve had accompanied in live concerts as part of the "Od Yishama Orchestra",
famous Jewish artists such as Yossi Piamenta from New York and Cantor Moshe Shur from Montreal.
Steve was also a member of the well known "Mazeltones Orchestra".
Steve is an accomplished Jazz musician. He is a graduate of the Berklee college of music in
Boston, where he won the Oscar Peterson Award.
In his spare time, Steve is the keyboardist and lead vocalist
of the Rock & Roll band, “The Neckties”. |

Andrey Zasypkin
Drums & Percussion
Andrey started taking drum lessons when he was only
6 years old. He continuously played and studied drums until he graduated from High
School. He then attended the Donetsk music college in the Ukraine for 4 years, specializing on both drums and percussion.
In 1990 at age 20, he graduated with a music degree, and began teaching and recording drums and percussion professionally.
In 1994 Andrey moved to Seattle, and while teaching and
recording here in Seattle, he successfully entered the Seattle music
scene by playing many different music styles with a large numbers of local
bands. Andrey joined the "Od Yishama Orchestra" in late 1999. |

Oleg Ruvinov Bass
Oleg started his music career in middle school as a tuba and bassoon
player. In college, he took classical music and Jazz , and between
1985 - 1990 studied in Gnesyn's musical Academy in Moscow, Russia’s
top music school.
Oleg has been the Bass soloist of the
Lundstrem State Jazz Orchestra between 1991 - 1996. He played with all major Russian Jazz
musicians of post-Soviet era, and frequently toured around Russia, Spain,
Finland, Poland, Germany, Israel, Egypt, Greece, Italy and Switzerland.
Since 1997, he lives and performs in Seattle Washington, and has been performing with the
"Od Yishama Orchestra" since 1999. |

Steve Mostovoy
Trumpet
Educated at Western Washington University and Indiana University, Steve holds a BA in Music,
and has spent the
past 25 years performing for organizations such as the John F. Kennedy Center,
the Washington State Arts Commission, Young Audiences, the Seattle Symphony, the
Paramount Theater Orchestra, the 5th Avenue Theater Orchestra, Bochinche, and
numerous Seattle-area groups in a wide range of musical styles.
Currently the
director of Bochinche, Steve has led this Tropical Latin Music ensemble through
nearly 20 years of performances and workshops for national tours, TV and radio
appearances, recordings, school assemblies, and countless public and private
concerts.
Steve has been with the "Od Yishama Orchestra" since its very beginning in 1999. |

Alexey Nikolaev
Tenor & Soprano Saxophone
A native of Moscow, Russia , Alexey began to play saxophone at age 15. In 1994 Alexey graduated
from Gnesin's Music Academy of Russia. He then completed additional studies with celebrated saxophonist Dave Liebman
in Dublin, Ireland.
In addition to Alexey's incredible knowledge and experience with Jewish music, he has been
playing many other types of music for nearly 20 years.
Since the early 80's, Alexey has been professionally playing Jazz, Funk, R&B, Latin, Smooth Jazz and Pop music.
Alexey has performed at many Jazz festivals, such as the Jazz festivals in Montreux, Switzerland and Pori, Finland.
He has played with Dave Liebman, Benny Golson, Wynton Marsalis, Randy Brecker, Ray Brown, Curtis Fuller, and many
others.
Since 2000, Alexey performs both with the "Od Yishama Orchestra" and with his own Jazz quartet. |

Paul Elliott
Violin
Paul has been a professional musician for over 30 years. His
classical training includes two degrees from the University of Washington
and advanced studies with Paul Patterson of the Royal Academy in London,
England.
Paul is one of the most versatile and respected improvising
violinists on the West coast, and has performed with "The Good Old Persons", John
Reischman, Michelle Shocked, Alison Brown, Buell Neidlinger, and others.
His recording credits span film, television, and radio, and a long list of CDs
including Scott Nygaard's No Hurry on the Rounder label. Paul joined the "Od Yishama Orchestra" in 2003. |

Marc Smason
Trombone
Marc, who is a Trombonist/vocalist/composer, has learned to sing as a child in Texas and studied classical and jazz Trombone in Seattle and Los Angeles with Stu Dempster (and Dijeridu), Julian Priester, Ken cloud & Slide Hampton as well as taking voice lessons with Jay Clayton (Jazz).
Marc has enjoyed teaching privately and in school workshops. Marc has studied in "California Institute of the arts" and is currently a member of the International Federation of Musicians local 76-493. He has performed throughout the world with such luminaries as the Funk Brothers, Andy Statman, Big Joe Turner, Perry Robinson, Sam Shepard, Julian Priester, Sonny Simmons, Jeff Johnson and the Ivar's Clams. Marc's playing encompasses many styles including jazz, Latin, Klezmer and R&B. |

Dan Wickham
Clarinet
As a graduate of the University of Washington School of Music and the University of Puget
Sound, Clarinetist/Saxophonist Dan Wickham has studied with William O. Smith, Don
Lanphere, Michael Brockman, and is one of the premier clarinet/saxophone performers and
teachers in the Seattle area.
Since 1999, Dan has worked as a music teacher in the Highline
School District at Mount View Elementary. Over his 20 year career as a musician, Dan has
played with such luminaries as The Temptations, Clint Holmes, and Frank Sinatra Jr.
Locally, Dan can be seen performing with the Seattle Symphony, The Seattle Repertory
Jazz Orchestra, Fred Radke and the Harry James Orchestra, the Jimmy Dorsey Orchestra, as well as his own
group, Swing City.

Julian Catford
Lead Guitar
Julian studied classical guitar with Carlos Barbosa-Lima and Guillermo Fierens
(a student of Segovia), and has been performing nationally for over 25 years. Some of his recent
performances include the Space Needle, Seattle Tennis Club, and
four years at the Hyatt Regency. Other performances include Seattle's
best clubs, theaters, and regional festivals such as Bumbershoot. He teaches
guitar at Seattle Pacific University, North Seattle Community College and Seattle Community College.
Julian's repertoire include many music styles. From Jewish music to
Spanish and baroque classical guitar, danceable
swinging jazz standards, smooth jazz and pop, Bossa Nova and Samba, Tango, World Beat and Flamenco.
